Omnia is a Latin word which means “everything” and everything is what Samsung wants to offer to their users with their latest model of mobile phone as its purpose is mainly to satisfy modern mobile phone users. Samsung Omnia has a PC like features perfect for both business and entertainment purposes because of its all-in-one features like 5-megapixel CMOS camera, Windows mobile 6.1 platform, GPS and large touch display. Plus, it is also the first mobile phone with built-in support for DivX and XviD video.

Other package of the Samsung Omnia model includes handsfree with 2 sets of added ear plugs and a 3.5mm adapter, Software CD, data cable, user’s manual and charger.

Design nowadays plays a very big part on the unit’s success in the market. Samsung knows that, that’s why they made Omnia the most attractive windows-supporting mobile phone in the market today.

The 5megapixel camera includes auto-focus, smile detection, face detection and auto-panorama shot for easier and better picture-taking and decent vide making experience.

Samsung Omnia has a familiar PC-like operating system. The unit allows its users to effortlessly switch from Microsoft Outlook email and other applications that look like PC programs with just simple touches of the finger. Important functions such as video quality is also not a problem in this model, as it gives decent high quality video watching experience.

Its GPS feature includes navigation and geo-tagging for your favorite places on the road. It also has huge storage space for your media files as there’s an 8GB and 16GB version of the phone.

The multiCodec support system of the unit removes the hassles of file conversions as the phone can support DivX, Xvid and many other video formats.

Now, you may be very impressed with all the good stuff installed in this unit, but like many all-in-one mobile phones that tried to look and function like a small PC, Samsung Omnia too has some of its cons.
The touch screen of the unit is awkward to use because it is quite sluggish and has strange widgets. Like many mobile phones with FM radio feature, you need to connect the headset before you can access the application.

The style of the keys make it difficult to press and hit, users with big fingers may find a hard time hitting keys without accidentally hitting other keys.

WiFi connection is quite slow in this unit too, but if with a good connection and range from the router, it can provide decent internet browsing experience.

Despite of all its cons, Samsung Omnia’s strength still makes the unit worth every dollar spend.
